This would seem to be good news, will Silver adopt (some portion) of the code base for compatibility?
Probably the best thing about this is that the libraries will be available.

Is there any chance to go swift to swift2?
Or, open source swift2 will inject to Silver?
We will of course support Swift 2 ASAP (we’re already working on it,and have more details timelines soon). As for what benefits the open sourcing will bring — we’ll see when that happens later this year. It’ll probably not affect our compiler much, but it will help us with integrating with the build chain for Apple Swift libraries & related stuff.
