I’ve copied HY\Auto Update sample into new folder.
In IDE, open these projects and removed dependence to runtime packages.

uHYAutoUpdateClient.pas

HydraAutoUpdate.RODL
into folder with updated sample and compiled with dcc32.exe
put client and server executables into correspondent subfolders
when I’ve launched them, they worked as expected so I recommend to do the same.
now you can put requirements to Windows.pas into definitions and recompile project with FPC
