I am an old fart who has been a life-long computer hobbyist. My early computers were before DOS. In those days you could not move floppy disks (160K) from one computer brand to another even if you ran the same operating system (cpm-80). I programmed in a very casual way in basic for many years but always as a tool in my 'real' job, which was technician level, often in support of the engineering department.Basic is a terrible language which has given me many bad habits so now I am struggling to implement OOP and learn about proper structure. My friends are retired now, but medical bills broke me so I must carry on. I am back in school now, just one more semester to get a degree in accounting. Programming is an intellectual exercise for me that I find fascinating but I am not very good at it. I plan to learn how to manipulate XBRL to aid in my future business.
