I have watchos6 on my watch but there doesn’t seem anyway to deploy a standalone watch app. All thats listed in the target dropdowns are the simulators.

yeah, I’m afraid I haven’t found a way to drop this. there’s not official APIs for device deployment and deb jugging at all, including iOS. the iOS support is all based on hacks and unofficial private APIs, and I don’t see any equivalent for watchOS, sorry :(.
Since Apple introduced official Apis for the Simulator a few years back (which before was also all hacks), I keep holding out hope that some day they may do the same for devices. until then, we’re SOL in that regard.
