Microsoft Security Update 2644615 and REM Objects

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2678103

This article says that that the update can break applications that use “a third-party COM library”.
Has anyone had any problems when using REM Objects and applying the KB2644615 Windows Update (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2644615) to a 64-bit Windows 7 machine?

Relativity Server doesn’t use COM.

I meant to pick Rem Objects Sdk from the dropdown.

neither does RemObjects SDK

I’m afraid I’m not a fully paid up teckie, but from my little understanding, I thought that RemObjects can be used in place of com type objects for communication using soap.
So issues relating to com object communications may be equally applicable to rem object communications.
I’m interested to know if there may be a problem with RemObjects and the new version of ntdll.dll provided by the update mentioned.

Jon,

no. RemObjects SDK might (very vaguely) be described to do something similar to what can be achieved with (D)COM, but it has is literally nothing to do with the COM technology at all. I’m having a hard time finding a concrete description for the security bulletin, but i cannot see how it would affect RO, as it is not a COM library.

Cool, thanks for your help.
