Unfortunately new modeler does not support schema data dictionaries yet.
As the workaround you can edit daDictionary in the old schema modeler application which is provided near the new modeler application.

Will be the old schema modeler compatible with version 7 schemas?

Yes sure, all things that were available in old Schema Modeler, including dictionaries and diagrams, remain compartible.

With old Schema Modeler you will not be able to work with schemas hosted in Relativity (Internal connections), daRemoteSchema and relativityClient files, and some other new features

feedback as to WHAT you prefer about the old or dislike about the new one (missing features such as DDs aside) would be appreciated.

The inability to work with dictionaries in the new schema modeller has made a recent server upgrade to the latest release a real nightmare. The dictionary mechanism is effectively useless without reverting to the old schema modeller. Very frustrating to say the least.
